Cole Winn rolled again in minor league action

Down East had an offensive explosion today, registering a 14-2 win. Nick Krauth allowed 2 runs in 6 IP, walking one and striking out two. Marc Church struck out four of the seven batters he faced, walking one in two scoreless innings.

Offensively, Thomas Saggese went two for four with a walk and his third home run of the year, as he continues what has been a quietly impressive pro debut. Cody Freeman had three hits and a steal. Jayce Easley and Dustin Harris each had a hit, a walk, and two steals. Alejandro Osuna had a hit and two steals. Luisangel Acuna, Antonio Cabello and Keithron Moss each had hits.

Avery Weems started for Hickory and allowed three runs in six innings, striking out nine and not walking anyone, though he also allowed three homers. Seth Nordlin struck out three and walked three in 3 IP, allowing three runs.

Jonathan Ornelas, who has been having an awful season, had a big game today with two homers and a single. Kellen Strahm and Miguel Aparicio each homered. Jake Guenther doubled.

Cole Winn was on the mound for Frisco tonight and he dominated. Five shutout innings, seven Ks, 1 walk, 1 hit allowed. 2.27 ERA now for the year. Ty Thomas allowed a run in an inning of work on two hits, striking out one. Nick Snyder allowed two hits in 1.1 IP, striking out three. Fernery Ozuna gave up three runs in 1.2 IP.

Rehabbing David Dahl had a hit and two walks. Bubba Thompson had a double and two walks. Steele Walker had a double and a walk. Josh Jung had a homer.

Round Rock sent Hyeon-jong Yang out as their starter, and Yang went 4.2 IP, allowing a run on five hits, including a home run. Jason Bahr allowed one run on a home run in 1.1 IP, walking three and striking out two. Joe Gatto allowed two runs in an inning of work on three hits, striking out one. Dennis Santana threw a scoreless inning.

Carl Chester had three hits. Ryan Dorow had a hit and a walk. Curtis Terry and Leody Taveras each had a hit.
