Adolis Garcia is a 2021 MLB All Star Game starter finalist, one of nine outfielders in the American League to advance to the second stage of voting. He is the only Texas Ranger player to make it to the second stage.
Adolis has been a breakout star since being promoted in April, making highlight reel plays in center field while also blasting tape measure home runs. Coming into today’s game he was slashing .275/.325/.543 with a 2.6 bWAR. He’s third in the A.L. in home runs.
The second phase of voting will run from noon Eastern on Monday, June 28, through 2 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, July 1. The leading vote getters will be named starters in the All Star Game, with the results being revealed Thursday evening on the MLB Network. The top three outfielders in votes in the American League in the first stage were Aaron Judge, Byron Buxton and Mike Trout, though Buxton and Trout are injured and not expected to be available to play in the All Star Game.
