The Wood Ducks were all wet, and their doubleheader (which was to make up yesterday’s rain out) today was rained out

For the second day in a row, Down East will not be in action because they’ve been washed out. Down East was slated to play a doubleheader today to make up for yesterday’s rainout. There will be a doubleheader scheduled now for tomorrow, and another one in July.

And Hickory also rained out. Sorry.

Sal Mendez started for Frisco today. Tepid is on the Sal Mendez Train so I guess I have to stop ignoring him. Mendez went five shutout innings, striking out five. Blake Bass had a scoreless inning, Hever Bueno gave up a run in an inning on two hits, and Scott Engler struck out five in two shutout innings.

Ryan Dorow homered. Steele Walker and Josh Stowers each had hits.

Jimmy Herget went a couple of innings, allowing an unearned run on a hit while striking out one. Luis Ortiz gave up two runs on two hits and a walk in an inning.

Just four hits for the Express today. One was a Charles Leblanc home run. One was a Leody Taveras double. Leody also walked. Carl Chester and Andy Ibanez had hits.
