Minor league update for 6/29/21

Time for some minor league summaries

Gavin Collyer started for Down East this evening and gave up a run in 4.2 IP on two hits and two walks, striking out six. Florencio Serrano walked one and struck out one in 2.1 IP.

Luisangel Acuna had two hits and two steals. Jayce Easley had one hit and two steals. Alejandro Osuna, Dustin Harris, Keyber Rodriguez and Keithron Moss all had hits.

Justin Slaten had a much needed strong start for Hickory, going five shutout innings, allowing two hits and two walks, striking out five. Kellen Strahm and Miguel Aparicio each had doubles, and Blaine Crim and David Garcia each had a pair of hits.

Frisco sent Yerry Rodriguez to the mound today. He went 4.1 IP, allowing one run on two hits, an HBP and two walks, striking out two. Blake Bass pitched a scoreless inning, allowing a hit, a walk, a wild pitch and a K. Cole Uvila threw 2 scoreless innings, striking out 2, and lowering his ERA to 2.21.

Josh Jung had a single and a homer. Anderson Tejeda had a walk and a homer. Steele Walker had a pair of hits. J.P. Martinez had two hits and a walk. David Dahl went one for four.

Tyson Miller, recently DFA’d and then outrighted by the Rangers, went three shutout innings for Round Rock, walking two, striking out two and allowing two hits. Joe Gatto allowed a run in an inning of work.

Leody Taveras had a hit and a walk. Curtis Terry had two doubles. Carl Chester had a single.

Dylan MacLean made his pro debut starting for the complex league team and had a rough go of it, allowing three runs on a hit, two walks and two wild pitches in 0.2 IP. Jose Corniell allowed two runs on four hits in two innings of work, striking out two.

Daniel Mateo went 2 for 4 with a triple. 2019 31st rounder Hunter Bryan had a single and a homer. Angel Aponte had a double and two singles. Sam Huff DH’d and was 0 for 4.
