The Texas Rangers scored one run but the Oakland Athletics scored four runs.
The Rangers gave up six hits to the A’s today. Four of them left the yard, all solo home runs. It seems Kolby Allard took a page out of Mike Foltynewicz’s book — The Book of Colby, as it were — from yesterday as Allard allowed all four solo dongs in his six innings of work.
Overall Allard walked none and struck out three A’s but the long ball bit him on a day where the Texas offense wasn’t really present to bail out his mistakes.
See ya Friday.
Player of the Game: David Dahl had three of Texas’ five hits but a Nick Solak RBI double was all that kept Texas from getting shut out by Chris Bassitt and the A’s today.
Up Next: The Rangers will enjoy their midsummer vacation during the All-Star break before reconvening on Friday in Buffalo where they will open up the season’s second half against the Toronto Blue Jays.
