Toronto bombarded Texas with five home runs in blowout second half opener

The Texas Rangers waited until the ninth to score two runs while the Toronto Blue Jays scored ten runs.

Well, welcome back. That one’ll hurt the ol’ run differential.

The Rangers are now tied for their low-water mark of the year at 21 games below .500.

Player of the Game: Eli White’s two-run home run was countered by Toronto’s five dingers on the night but it prevented the Rangers from getting shut out so he gets the nod.

Up Next: The Rangers and Blue Jays are back at it tomorrow from Buffalo with LHP Kolby Allard set to make the start for Texas against LHP Hyun Jin Ryu for Toronto. Saturday’s first pitch from Sahlen Field is scheduled to get underway at 2:07 pm CT.
