The Rangers wrap up their road trip from hell with a weekend series in Houston. Texas is currently on a nine game losing streak while the Astros have a 2.5 game lead in the division.

Friday’s game will feature Kolby Allard and Jake Odorizzi. This will be Allard’s first start against the Astros this season. Allard has pitched three scoreless innings against Houston in 2021. In five career games against the Astros, Allard has a 2.25 ERA in 16 innings. This will also be Odorizzi’s first start against the Rangers this season. He pitched four scoreless relief innings against them earlier this season.

Saturday’s starters will be Framber Valdez and Kyle Gibson. Valdez is 5-2 this season in 10 starts with a 3.26 ERA and 1.32 WHIP. In his three starts against Houston this season, Gibson has a 1.89 ERA in 19 innings.

On Sunday the Rangers will face Zack Greinke. In 20 starts this season, he has a 3.58 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. The Rangers don’t currently have a starter listed for Sunday but it lines up to be a start for Dane Dunning.
