Let’s start off with Hickory...I regret to inform you that Justin Foscue did not have a hit on Friday. However, the Hickory game was suspended in the top of the second, with Foscue only having batted once. The game will resume Saturday.

Down East had a shutout going for most of their game against Carolina, but allowed a run in the ninth to fall 1-0.

Mason Englert struck out five and walked no one in four shutout innings, allowing one hit. Mason Cole struck out six and walked two in four shutout innings. Luisangel Acuna had a single. Thomas Saggese and Jose Acosta each walked.

Cole Winn took the mound for Frisco on Friday. Winn struck out six in three innings of work, allowing two walks and five hits, including a home run, with two runs scoring. Cole Uvila struck out one and walked one while allowing one run in 1.1 IP.

Josh Jung had a single and a walk. Sam Huff had a single. Steele Walker had a pair of doubles. Josh Stowers had three singles.

Frisco box score

Joe Gatto threw 2.2 scoreless innings for Round Rock, striking out two and walking one. Jharel Cotton threw three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out two. I’d largely dismissed Cotton after a slow start to the year, but he’s got a 2.85 ERA on the year now.

Leody Taveras tripled and walked. Yohel Pozo had a pair of singles.
