Down East had Teodoro Ortega start on Sunday. Ortega went 2 innings, allowing a run on two hits with two Ks. Destin Dotson relieved Ortega, striking out four while walking two and allowing a hit in 1.2 IP.
Cristian Inoa went three for four with a walk, a stolen base and a home run. Thomas Saggese had two singles, a double and a stolen base. Jayce Easley had a pair of hits. Dustin Harris and Alejandro Osuna each had a hit and a walk. Luisangel Acuna had a hit.
Hickory’s Game One was a continuance of the game that was suspended on Friday (that was supposed to be resumed yesterday but which was also rained out). Zak Kent therw a scoreless, three strikeout inning Friday before the rains came. Avery Weems struck out six and allowed three home runs in six innings of work, getting dinged for four home runs total.
Justin Foscue homered yet again in Game One, and also singled. He now has a 1238 OPS for Hickory this year. Blaine Crim homered and walked. David Garcia had a double. Miguel Aparicio and Jake Guenther each had a hit and a walk. Kellen Strahm had a hit.
In Game Two, Grant Wolfram, Tai Teidemann and Joe Corbett combined to allow just one run while striking out 13 in seven innings. Blaine Crim had a single and a homer. Jake Guenther also had a hit.
Cole Ragans was on the mound for Frisco on Sunday night. Ragans struck out five and walked two in 4 IP, allowing one run. Nick Snyder threw 1.1 scoreless innings with two strikeouts. Fernery Ozuna retired the final two batters of the game.
Josh Jung homered in five at bats. Anderson Tejeda went three for four with two home runs. Josh Stowers doubled. Melvin Novoa had a double and a homer.
