Tigers 5, Rangers 3

  • My thoughts from today are that Joey Gallo is awesome and those three runs scoring in the top of the seventh was horseshit.
  • Kyle Gibson deserved better than that.
  • Five runs allowed in 6.1 IP for Gibson. Seven Ks, 2 walks, 8 hits. I don’t know why I spelled out the seven but not the 2 and the 8. The fingers do what they want! They play by no man’s rules! They’ll spell out numbers they should be using numerals for and plug in numerals where words are more appropriate. Fingers are crazy!
  • This fucking game, man.
  • Here’s the exit velocities on the balls the Tigers hit in the seventh, when they scored three runs:
  • This is crap. I’m not counting this as a loss.
  • Joey Gallo hit two home runs today. They went over 900 feet combined. He also drew a bases loaded walk. He’s very good.
  • Jonah Heim had two more hits, obviously motivated by the presence of John Hicks.
  • Joey Gallo’s homers were 111.6 and 109.4 mph off the bat. Jonah Heim’s hits were 104.5 mph and 100.7 mph. Nate Lowe had a 101.0 mph single. Isiah Kiner-Falefa had a 100.8 mph line out.
  • Taylor Hearn hit 96.0 mph on his fastball today. Joely Rodriguez and Joe Barlow each hit 95.0 mph. Kyle Gibson reached 93.6 mph.
  • This was not the way I wanted to go into an off day.
