MLB: Texas Rangers at Seattle Mariners Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Rangers were riding an emotional high after pulling out an extra inning win to snap a historic road losing streak.

There were no late inning heroics for the Rangers last night, though, with the offense only putting up one run and the bullpen unable to once again shut down the Mariners in the ninth.

Chris Woodward says the pitchers have to stop giving free passes and start getting better at retiring the leadoff hitters to start an inning.

Sam Huff injured his knee in Spring Training while taking batting practice and isn’t allowed to catch this season, which means if he earns a promotion it will be with his bat.

T.R. Sullivan is posting memories of his time covering the Rangers over at Jeff Wilson’s substack, and yesterday discussed his love affair with The Ballpark in Arlington.

The Rangers placed six Frisco players on the IL due to the COVID outbreak and Josh Jung is unavailable due to contact tracing, so Justin Foscue and recent acquisition Josh Smith have been promoted.
