Minor league update for 8/11/21

A pair of extra inning games and a wild one in Kinston

Down East was up 1-0 early, then was down 17-1 and 19-2, then lost 19-10. The one pitcher of note for Down East, who allowed two runs in 1 IP on three hits and a walk, striking out two.

Thomas Saggese had a double and a grand slam. Jayce Easley had a pair of hits, a pair of walks and a pair of stolen bases. Keyber Rodriguez had a pair of hits. Jose Acosta had a single and a double. Daniel Mateo walked. Luisangel Acuna had a hit.

Down East box score

Seth Nordlin had a stellar outing for Hickory, going 6.2 shutout innings, walking two, allowing two hits, and striking out seven. Dustin Harris and David Garcia each had hits.

Cody Bradford started for Frisco and had another fine outing, giving up two runs on six hits in five innings, with no walks and seven strikeouts. Daniel Robert, in his AA debut, walked one, allowed a hit and struck out two in a scoreless inning of work. Fernery Ozuna had two shutout innings with two Ks and a walk.

Justin Foscue, making his AA debut, had a pair of hits. Bubba Thompson had a double and a homer. Miguel Aparicio tripled. Josh Stowers had a pair of hits. Blaine Crim had a single and a homer.
