We have a series at home, so maybe the Rangers will win a game or two

The Rangers are back home for a weekend series against the Oakland A’s. This will be the last home-stand they play against Oakland this season.

Before we get on to the game previews, I’ll remind you about the most important part of this series. Which is that before Saturday’s game, Adrian Beltre will be inducted into the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame. As will Chuck Morgan.

Beltre specifically wanted a weekend where Oakland would be in town so his little brother, Elvis Andrus could be there for the ceremony.

Which means we will all be on the look out for another classic head touch.

Saturday will also be Isiah Kiner-Falefa gold glove bobblehead give away.

Friday’s game starters will be Cole Irvin for Oakland and Dane Dunning for the Rangers.

This will be Irvin’s fourth start against the Rangers this season. Irvin is 2-1 with a 4.24 ERA in 17 innings over those three starts this season.

Dunning has pitched four scoreless innings against Oakland this season.

James Kaprielian will get the start on Saturday for Oakland. Kaprielian will make his fifth start against Texas this season. He is 1-1 with a 3.52 ERA in 23 innings across four games.

Jordan Lyles will start for the Rangers. This will be his fourth appearance against Oakland this season. Lyles is 1-1 with a 5.19 ERA in 17.1 innings across the three games, two of those being starts.

For the series finale, Sean Manaea and Kolby Allard will take the mound. Manaea lost his only start against the Rangers this season. He went five innings and gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks. Kolby Allard has yet to get a win against Oakland this season too. In three starts, Allard has a 5.50 ERA in 18 innings against the A’s this season.
