Minor league update for 8/13/21

Mason Englert started for Down East, giving up four runs on five hits (two homers) in four innings of work, with two walks, a HBP, and six Ks. Connor Sechler gave up two runs on 2.2 IP, walking five and striking out three. Destin Dotson allowed two runs in 2.1 IP, with two walks and three Ks.

Daniel Mateo had a single, a homer, a walk, and two stolen bases. Jayce Easley had a triple, two walks, and three stolen bases. Keyber Rodriguez had five hits and a stolen base. Thomas Saggese had a pair of hits and a stolen base. Keithron Moss had a double, a walk and a stolen base.

Hickory played a pair on Friday. In Game One, Ezequiel Duran and Jake Guenther each homered. Dustin Harris and David Garcia each had a pair of hits. Trevor Hauver had a hit.

In Game Two, Avery Weems started and threw 5.2 scoreless innings, allowing four hits and striking out nine.
