Hickory and Frisco were both rained out, so we have a shorter update than usual.

Gavin Collyer threw 4.2 shutout innings for Down East on Tuesday, striking out seven, walking three and allowing two hits. Collyer, a 12th round pick in 2019 who may have been able to be signed only because Brandon Sproat went to college, has pitched very well after a rough start to the season — since May 20 he has a 3.28 ERA in 49.1 IP, and in his last five outings he has struck out 25 and walked 13 in 21.1 IP with a 1.69 ERA.

Keyber Rodriguez homered and stole a base. Thomas Saggese had a hit.
