A very positive day on the farm

Nate Krauth started for the Down East Wood Ducks and went five innings, allowing three runs, walking three and striking out three. Destin Dotson threw 0.2 scoreless innings. Cody Freeman had a hit and two walks.

Hickory had a doubleheader on Saturday. In Game One, Avery Weems gave up three home runs for the fourth time in a game this season. He went 4.1 IP, struck out 8 and walked 1.

Dustin Harris had a single, a double and a homer. Ezequiel Duran had a single, a double and a walk. Trevor Hauver and Jake Guenther each had two hits and a walk. David Garcia and Jonathan Ornelas each had two hits.

In Game Two, Kevin Gowdy allowed three runs in five innings, striking out seven and walking one. Ezequiel Duran homered, Dustin Harris doubled and Trevor Hauver singled.

Zak Kent started for Frisco and threw five scoreless, allowing five hits and two walks, striking out seven. Daniel Robert threw 1.1 shutout IP, striking out one and walking one. Josh Smith and Josh Stowers each had two hits. Blaine Crim had a hit. Sam Huff and Miguel Aparicio each drew a walk.

Glenn Otto threw five shutout innings for the Express, allowing one hit, walking three and striking out four. Wes Benjamin struck out four and walked one in three innings of work. Curtis Terry homered.

The ACL Rangers played a pair. In Game One, Josh Gessner gave up five runs in 2.2 IP on four hits, five Ks and five walks. Damian Mendoza allowed two runs in 3.1 IP on four hits and a walk, striking out four. Larson Kindreich threw a scoreless inning, striking out two and walking one.

Aaron Zavala made his pro debut and walked in three plate appearances. Efrenyer Narvaez had a single and a double. Josy Galan had a hit.

In Game Two, Kai Wynyard went three innings and allowed one run on two hits, a walk and a K. Bradford Webb threw a scoreless inning. Emiliano Teodo allowed a run in two innings of work on three hits and two walks, striking out three. D.J. McCarty threw a scoreless inning.

Junior Paniagua had three hits. Jojo Blackmon had two hits. Zion Bannister had a single, a double and a walk. Ian Moller homered. Cam Cauley and Antonio Cabello had a hit apiece.
