The Texas Rangers 2022 schedule has been released by MLB, and the Rangers are opening up the 2022 season at home against the New York Yankees. Texas plays New York on March 31, 2022, as part of a four game series running through Sunday, April 3.
We are all used to there being an off day between Opening Day and the second game of the season, presumably for weather considerations, but I guess with the Shed having a roof, there’s no need to worry about that now.
Texas then immediately hits the road, playing the first interleague series of the season from April 4-6 at Miami, so if there isn’t a universal DH adopted this offseason, we will get to see pitchers hitting right away.
The final homestand of the season will be from September 20-25, with three games against the Angels followed by three games against the Guardians. Texas then goes on the road for a three game series at Seattle from September 27-29, and then three against the Angels from September 30 through October 2.
