Down East was rained out.
Hickory took a 16-0 lead into the bottom of the ninth, and survived a Greensboro rally to win 16-2. Kevin Goody threw six shutout innings, allowing one walk and three hits, striking out five. Daniel Robert struck out all three batters he faced.
As for the bats...there were some big nights. Dustin Harris was 5 for 6 with a double. Justin Foscue and Justin Hauver each had a single, a home run and a walk. Ezequiel Duran had two singles and a double.
Frisco had Ronny Henriquez get the start. Henriquez allowed one run in four innings of work, striking out six and walking three. Fernery Ozuna allowed five runs in 1.1 IP.
Josh Jung was three for three with a homer. Anderson Tejeda had a single and a homer. Sam Huff had a homer Statcast out at 502 feet. Blaine Crim had a hit.
Glenn Otto started for the Express. Otto went four innings, allowing four runs on six hits and a walk, striking out four. Cole Uvila allowed five runs in an inning of work, striking out two and walking two. Nick Snyder allowed three runs in an inning of work.
Leody Taveras singled, doubled and tripled.
Josh Stephan started in Arizona. He went five innings, allowing just one hit — a solo home run — with two walks and four Ks. Michael Brewer threw a scoreless inning, walking one and striking out two. D.J. McCarty allowed a run in two hits in an inning of work, striking out two. Emiliano Teodo walked three, struck out three and allowed three hits in 1.0 IP, allowing one run.
Cameron Cauley had a single and a double. Efrenyer Narvaez had a pair of hits.
