39-73 - Rangers predictably swept out of Bay following 6-3 loss to Oakland

Things went about as one would expect

MLB: Texas Rangers at Oakland Athletics Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

The Texas Rangers somehow managed to score three runs while also somehow keeping the Oakland Athletics to only six runs.

Remember right in the aftermath of the Rangers climbing to .500 in early May when Texas went winless on the road for 16 consecutive games and it was a big deal and had people wondering what was the all-time road winless streak record?

Well, the Rangers are on history watch again as they have now lost 14 games in a row on the road. That’s 30 games worth of losses in big ol’ chunks away from The Shed this season. It almost feels like a miracle has occurred considering that they’ve won 13 games away from home in 2021.

The funny thing about this leg of the losing skid is that it came at the Oakland Coliseum which made it 100% likely. We shouldn’t be surprised and I doubt anyone is.

After today, there are 50 Texas Rangers baseball games to go in 2021. Do with that information what you will.

Player of the Game: Isiah Kiner-Falefa hit a triple and his 7th dinger of the season.

Up Next: The Rangers have a day off tomorrow to fly up to Seattle before they put their road futility to the test in a building where they lost 14 of the last 15 games that they have played there. I would look up Tuesday’s probables, but I honestly don’t care. First pitch from T-Mobile Park will be in the middle of the night.
