The Texas Rangers scored five big ones but the Oakland Athletics scored ten bigger ones.
It took until the third start of his MLB career but Glenn Otto got a real Welcome To The Big Leagues moment tonight as he allowed eight Oakland A’s runs in 3 1⁄3 innings of work.
Otto still only walked one batter to five strikeouts but Oakland was able to smack him around, especially in a six-run second inning that all but doomed the squad’s bid for a fifth consecutive road win.
Player of the Game: Josh Sborz made an appearance in relief and tossed a scoreless inning with a couple strikeouts so there you go.
Up Next: The Rangers and A’s are back at it tomorrow. LHP Kolby Allard will make the start for Texas against LHP Cole Irvin for Oakland. Saturday afternoon’s first pitch from the Oakland Coliseum is scheduled for 3:07 pm CT.
