Baseball America has released their final in-season update of their top 100 prospects list for 2021, and if you are one of those folks who says, well, yeah, the Rangers have a lot of prospects, but what about top 50 guys, I have some good news for you.
Texas has three players that are on the updated top 100 list, and all three are in the top fifty. Jack Leiter, who the Rangers took at #2 overall in the 2021 MLB Draft, is the #26 prospect on the BA list, while Josh Jung, the third baseman the Rangers took in the first round in 2019, is #27 on the list. Leiter was #37 and Jung #43 when BA did their midseason update back in July.
The other Ranger on the list, and the biggest riser of the three, is Cole Winn. Winn is at #46 on the updated BA list, up from #89 six weeks ago, and ahead of such notable names as Cristian Pache, Quinn Priester and Max Meyer.
