Texas Rangers Week 25 Recap & New York Yankees Series Preview

The Rangers couldn’t manage to bring their road trip luck home with them. Managing just one win against Houston in the final four-game series against the Astros this season. They also managed just one win against the White Sox, making them just six games out from 100 losses.

The begin their final road trip of the season tonight with a three game series against the New York Yankees. It’ll be the first time they’ll face Joey Gallo since trading him.

Tonight’s game will feature a match up between A.J. Alexy and Nestor Cortes. The righty, Cortes has a 2.60 ERA in 19 games, 11 starts, and a 1.05 WHIP. In Alexy’s last outing, he went 3.2 innings and gave up six runs on four hits and four walks.

Tuesday’s matchup with be Jordan Montgomery and Dane Dunning. Montgomery has made 27 starts this season and has a 3.63 ERA and 1.25 ERA in 144.0 innings pitched. This will be Dunning’s first start since coming off Covid IL. He’s made two relief outings, going three innings and giving up just one run on five hits.

In the series finale on Wednesday, Taylor Hearn will matchup against former Ranger, Corey Kluber. Kluber has made 14 starts this season after missing all of June, July and most of August after being up on the injured list for a right shoulder strain. He has a 3.68 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in 71 innings.
