Minor league update for 9/21/21

Down East fell 4-2 in Game One of their five game championship series against Charleston on Tuesday. Gavin Collyer started and went 4.2 IP, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks, striking out four, throwing two wild pitches and hitting a batter. Destin Dotson went two innings, allowing a run on three hits and two walks, striking out one.

Luisangel Acuna had a hit and a walk. Cody Freeman homered. Jayce Easley and Alejandro Osuna each had hits.

Brock Burke started for the Express and threw four shutout, no hit innings, issuing a walk, hitting a batter and striking out three. Burke got off to a terrible start to the season, but since the start of July, he has a 3.65 ERA in 49.1 IP, with 60 Ks against 15 walks and a .212/.288/.385 slash line allowed. Demarcus Evans threw two shutout innings, striking out two.

Josh Jung had a single and a walk. Ryan Dorow had a pair of hits.
