Make it a season-worst 42 games under .500

The Texas Rangers scored three runs but the New York Yankees scored seven runs.

The Rangers lost. They were up 3-0 as late as the bottom of the sixth. They allowed four runs in the eighth inning. They were swept.

Also, Joey Gallo scored the winning run. :3

Player of the Game: Adolis Garcia uncorked one of the nastiest throws you’ll ever see to peg a then tying Yankees run at the plate.

But Isiah Kiner-Falefa was the only Ranger with two hits and he also stole a base, drove in a run, and played some excellent defense himself at shortstop for Texas this evening.

Up Next: The Rangers embark on their final road series of the season as they open a four-game set against the Orioles. RHP Glenn Otto will take the mound for Texas in the opener against LHP Zac Lowther (of the hill people) for Baltimore.

Thursday night’s first pitch from Camden Yards is scheduled for 6:05 pm CT.
