Texas Rangers Week 26 Recap & Los Angeles Angels Series Preview

We start the final week of the regular season

MLB: Texas Rangers at Baltimore Orioles Scott Taetsch-USA TODAY Sports

Season record: 57-99

Week 26 record: 2-5

Series record: 14-31, 5 split

The Rangers managed a series split against the Baltimore Orioles this weekend to avoid losing their final road series of the 2021 series. They got swept by the Yankees earlier last week before going to Baltimore. They were on a five-game losing streak before winning the second game of the series.

If the Ranges sweep their final homestand, they could manage avoiding a 100 loss season. However, they also just faced the one American League team with a worse record than them and only managed two wins. So the odds are slim.

On Tuesday, the Rangers will face an Angels’ pitcher with arguably the best name ever, Packy Naughton. The left-hander has pitched in six games this season and made four starts. Naughton has a 5.23 ERA and 1.65 WHIP this season. A.J. Alexy will make the start for the Rangers.

Wednesday’s starter for Los Angeles, while not as great as Tuesday, has an amazing name as well, Janson Junk. This will be Junk’s fourth start, he has a 3.75 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 17 innings. Taylor Hearn will take the mound for the Rangers.

Alex Cobb will start the finale game between the teams on Thursday, In 18 starts, he’s 8-3 with a 3.46 ERA and 1.23 WHIP. Glenn Otto will start for the Rangers.
