With the Round Rock Express set to begin the 2022 MiLB season tonight, it's only fitting we revive the MiLB thread. Despite Coral's best attempts, we'll continue this bi-weekly tradition throughout the 2022 season! The rest of this post is basically entirely copied and pasted from MonkeyEpoxy's first MiLB thread last year, so let's get going.
We have real Minor League Baseball again, folks! Round Rock sends Jake Latz to the mound tonight against the El Paso Chihuahuas to kick off 2022's first professional baseball in Texas. You can watch with an MiLB.tv subscription, or listen live to the broadcast on Austin's AM 1300 The Zone.

So, LSBians, who are the prospects you are most excited to see this year? Who are your breakout prospect predictions, (and no, Evan Carter does not count)? Which Rangers' prospect do you defy the consensus on? To my friends that live in Texas, how often do yall think you'll get to Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco? For you dorks in Austin, how often will you get out to the Dell Diamond? And lastly, to our rare friends in the Carolinas, will you make it out to many games in Hickory and Kinston?
For those of you in the DFW metroplex, it sounds like there will be quite a show with Jack Leiter's debut:
Jack Leiter's pro debut will not be a circus at all. A very subdued atmosphere. pic.twitter.com/BzOVhcrvtI— Evan Grant (@Evan_P_Grant) April 4, 2022
I'm leaving this section from Monkey's post last year because it bears repeating: And now, with all that out of the way, I would like all of you to join me in a moment of silence for losing one of the most storied franchises in American sports, the Spokane Indians. For many years, that short season A ball squad was the most exciting league to follow. The players were so young that the dreams were still alive, the uniforms were slick, the announcers were competent, and the stadium was lovely. RIP Spokane Indians. I hope the Colorado Rockies treat you right. I doubt it, but I hope.
Anyway, as always, have fun tracking the development of the Rangers prospects this year and feel free to post whatever you'd like in the comments!
