Good morning. While Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers have grinded the sports world to a halt to insert time value of money and interest rate calculations into our brains, there’s not a ton out there today on the World Champion Texas Rangers.
Jeff Wilson notes that the in-season closer and post-season dugout cheerleader Will Smith and Austin Hedges are some of the first to leave the hallowed World Series-winning roster. The good news for them is they will each make more than twice as much as the reigning American League MVP to play baseball in 2024!
I have to imagine Jim Bowden isn’t abreast of the Bally situation as he’s still predicting the Rangers will sign both Jordan Montgomery and Josh Hader in his post-Ohtani free agency landscape.
And, Matt Snyder ponders if MLB should try to make like the NBA and hold an in-season tournament.
Have a nice day!
